Who’s heard that phrase lately? Probably everyone, and usually with regards to Hillary Clinton’s run for the Presidency. Have you heard it used when Carly Fiorina’s candidacy is mentioned? I didn’t think so. So, why is it that it’s only time for Hillary and not Carly? I’ll let you ponder that one.
However, what it might actually be time for is a real candidate. Is there one among the many for 2016? Does any candidate from any given party have what it takes to really make a difference, to turn this country around? I’m not writing tonight to argue whether they do or don’t. Again, that is for you to choose. No, tonight’s message is more about paying attention to the issues and where the candidates stand on them.
Do you really want someone with their finger on “the button” just because of their sex, race, color, creed, religion, etc? Or do you want someone who can not only make sound decisions based off of reason and logic, but is willing to surround themselves with the right people who aren’t just yes-men? The first thing you have to do is decide for yourself where you stand on the issues. What is it that you value, believe in, and hope for in this country? Can you really justify a position that says because someone holds a particular genetic disposition that they are automatically qualified to run, well, anything?
